The Upcoming Release of the 2013 Six-Word Memoir Film

(Charleston, South Carolina, USA) December 25, 2013 - The previously renowned "Six-Word Memoir" films created by Junius Wright are making a reappearance. These films contain multiple students' Six-Word Memoirs. The requirements for each Six-Word Memoir created is that the photo must only contain six words, with a back ground image. Also, those six words must make sense grammatically and be easy to read. This will be the 7th of these films to be created.
The most recent Six-Word Memoir to be released was given the award "Best Locally Produced Video" by the Charleston City Paper. Wright hopes to reach a higher level of recognition in the coming years. "The outlook for this year's film is great," Current student at Academic Magnet, Savannah Seeber, told us, "We really put our hearts into these memoirs." The students spend just around a month creating these projects. They work in and out of school, spending a decent amount of time on these projects.
Alexis Polcyn, also a current Magnet student, stated that "These memoirs were a great learning experience for me and my peers." Many students agreed that they walked away from this experience with a new respect for a lack of words. This project allows students to expand their vocabulary, while limiting their word choice. It forces students to consider new ways of phrasing things. These Six-Word Memoirs also help students learn how to edit photos. The students must create every aspect of this project, including the photo. Many students choose to use personal photos, such as family or childhood pictures, as their background image. The students must also use a photo-editing website or program to place their chosen six words on their photo. This project helps the participants learn skills in photography and photo-editing, and expands their photography. Not only do they gain new words through their Six-Word Memoir, but also through viewing other Six-Word Memoirs.
